I believe that if people genuinely want to make money from property then that is precisely what will happen whether that be in the UK, Caribbean, Europe or America. Deciphering which tools and techniques to use is an individual thing some people like to use lease options, some equity from their property, while others seek the support from family and friends to get the level of cash required to start their property portfolio. In any case if you are seeking information about how property can work for you, I am holding an information session (for women) on 26 January 2011 in Islington – Limited spaces – only 25 places are available.

Well written post and an interesting interview.

Lease options is controversial way of acquiring properties.

Some people I know are so much up to this strategy they dedicate themselves fully to it and do nothing else; some take it as an alternative and use it with caution, when nothing else works. There also those who are entirely against it, for many reasons but mainly because there is no court precedence in he UK to base the judgement of lawfulness for such contracts.
There are many questions in this regard such as what if?: a vendor disappears or dies or if an investor is gone bankrupt and many more.

There is no right or wrong and it is not me to evaluate this, however. If both sides are properly represented and contracts are carefully written by an experienced solicitor there should be no legal issues. The biggest problems seen are in details, complexity and uniqueness of every contract and this is why it should be left to professionals and as you rightly said: “… those who know what they are doing, like Richard …”
