Last week I wrote a blog post about why one needs to become financially savvy with gold and in that post I said would write in my next post why gold has pulled back and how this can benefit you and your family’s financial future.

Gold has fallen almost $400 in a week from its Summer high of$1900 an ounce, and is currently settling around the $1,600 mark. Some people believe this fall is due to Gold being in a bubble and that it will continue to fall. I disagree and believe that if you have not already started protecting your assets with Gold now is the time to start doing so.

Watch the short video below to get a better understanding of why there is a pullback in Gold! The speaker is very succinct, logical and sound!

http://video.foxbusiness.com/v/1176712605001/

Ultimately with the global economy still in a crisis we have probably seen the highs for gold this year but we can expect new highs some time in 2012. So much so, that many gold expects believe Gold will rise to a level of $10,000 rather than collapse in a bubble! And that it will continue to rise for years to come! Thus, now is the time to position yourselves to enjoy those coming highs! Remember wealth does not disappear it is transferred!

Women and their money! This is what Cherry‘s Cash Dilemmas on BBC3 was all about! Where Cherry Healey, a highly dynamic and down to earth presenter, travelled around the country (UK) looking at women’s relationship with money.

‘She goes to meet women with very different experiences of the folding stuff (money), from a self-made millionaire to a woman on the breadline. Cherry experiences for herself what it’s like to eat from a bin when she spends time with a freegan and gets a complete WAG makeover from a girl on a mission to bag a rich husband. Cherry’s journey takes her around the country as she finds out how financially-independent women really are and if cash can make us happy.’

To watch the programme click the link (10 days to watch it) – http://www.bbc.co.uk/i/b013h51z

As a financial literacy educator supporting individuals to create their own personal economy by becoming financially savvy and serious about wealth creation, especially in these unprecedented economic times, I watched with intrigue and interest. And although I found the programme wholly entertaining and was touched by the various stories of the participants, I think it failed to touch on two essential points that make or break an individual’s relationship with money, and those are one’s mindset in regards to money and the value(s) one places on money, which is dependent on their ‘money’ mindset.

In this short video Dr John Demartini, one of the stars of film ‘The Secret’, addresses this quite succinctly.

httpv://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5gxmuaGSWd4

Cherry writes on her BBC3 blog post that her core question whilst making this very personal documentary was ‘whether money can make you happy or not’? For me, it is not necessarily whether money can make you happy or not, but what money can do for you that makes you happy or not. All money is ultimately is a tool! Just like a drill is a tool which you use to create the hole in the wall to hang that beautiful piece of artwork that makes YOU feel good! It’s not the drill that made you feel good but the artwork – the end product! Thus, how you think about money, how you treat it, is the amount we will attract and manifest into our lives, irrelevant of how much we ‘say’ we want (more of) it.

Marie-Claire Carlyle, author of How to Become a Money Magnet, and one of the keynote speakers at the up and coming Infinitely Wealthy Women event on Saturday 10th September, writes “Money is an emotional subject…Your feelings are a clue to your unconscious beliefs. Once you uncover your unconscious blocks to wealth, you will be in a much better position to remove them…“

As such I could assume that the 5 participants’ feelings and unconscious beliefs to money as being as follows -

Wannbe Wag – ‘I am not smart or intelligent enough to earn my own money.’

Self-Made – ‘Once I have a lot (more) money (and things) I will feel more secure and valuable.’

Freegan – ‘Having and earning a lot of money is a big responsibility.’

Struggling – ‘If you’re rich in love, health and happiness, you don’t need money.’

Riches to Rags – ‘If I really strive for wealth and don’t succeed, I’ll feel like a failure.’

After watching the programme would you agree?

There are so many limiting beliefs around money which influences what we tell ourselves as to why we don’t have it or even, feel we don’t deserve it. The remedy to this is financial education! And not in the sense of how to create a budget? But what is money? And how to make it work hard for you rather than you working hard for it. In all honesty why isn’t this taught at schools anyway?

Jim Rohn, an American entrepreneur, author and motivational speaker, says a “Formal education will make you a living; self-education will make you a fortune.”

Financial Education falls under self education and this is what Robert Kiyosaki, author of the multimillion copy bestselling personal finance book that teaches people how to become masters of their money and sustain wealth for themselves and their families, Rich Dad, Poor Dad, say about it ‘Without Financial Education, your money flows to those who profit most from your financial ignorance.” And this is why financial education is not taught at school! To keep us ignorant! Ultimately, however, and thankfully, the world is changing and the old rules of ‘go to school, get a job, work hard and get a pension, no longer apply. And women, interestingly enough, are positioned to flourish during this change.

According to a recent BBC report, the number of female millionaires is set to rise (http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/business/4788815.stm). In addition to that and according to a UK think tank, women are set to represent more than HALF of Britain’s millionaires by 2020. The wealth gap between millionaires of both sexes is also closing, the report found.

Over the past eight years, while the wealth of a male millionaire increased by 9.2%, female millionaires’ net worth shot up by 53.9%. Another report in The Guardian states that a report from market analyst Datamonitor has found that women now make up 46% of the UK’s 376,000 millionaires, and this number is increasing by 11% a year.

Possible explanations for this range from women living longer; women are more independent than in the past and there are more female entrepreneurial role models than in the past to women running businesses is much more culturally accepted and women have better inter-personal and management skills than men – key skills to have in the 21st century business world. Noami Sesay, of The Billionaires’ Ladies Club, and another keynote speaker at the Infinitely Wealthy Women event, will be exploring this subject and showing why now is the time for women to truly get their slice of the wealth pie.

To end Cherry’s Money Dilemmas is an excellent programme to open up and delve into this very important and essential subject ‘YOU and your money’, particularly now when stock markets are losing value, world governments are failing & financial institutions are in debt; which is why I am so pleased to putting on with my colleague, Elena Theodorou of Passion Meets Profit, the first Infinitely Wealthy Women event on Wealth Creation & Preservation on Saturday 10th September.

httpv://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ze9HIY7mfCg

This event is not simply about DIY but UIY – Understand It Yourself, so that if YOU so choose, you can Do IT Yourself! No one should know more about your money than you! And no one should have a better relationship with your money than you.

To purchase your ticket to this life-enhancing and changing event, with other like-minded women, go to www.InfinitelyWealthyWomen.com/IWW. If you purchase one ticket the second ticket will be half price! This offer lasts until Friday, 26th August 2011. For this week only you will also receive a Marie-Claire Carlyle – The Money Magnet Coach, bonus gift! You don’t want to miss out on this!

And finally for the first FIVE people who purchase a ticket AND write a comment to this blog post before Friday 26th August, you will be given a complimentary ticket for a (female) guest of your choice to also attend the event!

To your success and becoming financially savvy!

Then this morning reading my daily dose of Money Week the key article happened to be on property – ‘Britain’s housing market is an unexploded economic bomb’, in which, according to Halifax, ‘Uk house prices saw their biggest fall in 18 months in April’.

Now, I have touched on the topic of Gold V Property before in my Wealth Creation blog post on Property, but with the continuous meteoric rise of Gold, and webinar on the subject tonight, I thought I would touch on it again.

In the video below Mike Maloney, the author of one of the greatest and ‘easy to digest’ books on Gold & Silver Investing, shares in these simple charts why gold and silver have to a lot further to go. Once you see this you’ll instantly see why this is the largest wealth transfer in the history of human kind! One you should be taking the time to review and take advantage off!!

As such, and as stated in my previous post on this subject, your ultimate strategy in this gold rush should be to ride the precious metals bubble to the top, sell, and then transfer the profits into property. Gold, is after all money!! And this strategy worked for those who took advantage of the Weimer hyperinflation years in 1940′s Germany; some purchasing whole streets of property.

httpv://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UE7QcVN5tC8

What are your thoughts if any?

To your success and becoming financially savvy

Judging from the pomp and old skool glory of the Royal Wedding last Friday one would deem that Britain was still ‘great’ as in ‘the sun never sets on the empire’ great! When in actuality it is broke! It is no longer ‘Great Britain’ but ‘Austerity Britain’.

With the cost of security for the Royal Wedding added to the country’s already severe budget deficit, a number of articles estimate that the cost to the taxpayer will be in its millions. How that will affect the already economically squeezed Briton, what with ‘Tax’ and ‘Inflation’ sitting on either side of them, is simple a question of time.

The 2011 Budget, announced back in March, highlighted the depth of our national debt; it is huge and growing; even with all the cuts. Here is a link from ‘This is Money’ on the 2011 Budget – http://www.thisismoney.co.uk/news/article.html?in_article_id=526675&in_page_id=2; and a video giving an overview on it for those who missed it or simply did not acknowledge it.

httpv://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8d33wG9duYc

Ultimately real incomes in Britain are fallen for the first time in 30 years. Unemployment has gone up and our fragile housing market, and by extension the banking system, is still very dependent on low interest rates, meaning inflation will continue to abound. What this means is if you are not already doing so, you have to prepare your finances for a tough 2011…that is unless you have been or are becoming financially savvy by putting in place multiple income streams (investments, businesses, et, etc,) to build and protect your income.

Most individuals only have one income stream, generally a job. If that is you then maybe you need to think about other ways of earning an income, albeit part-time. There are many way to do that and although it takes sacrifice, NOW is the time to be open to new ideas, new opportunities and more importantly getting comfortable with the uncomfortable and unknown in order to get something different from life. This is the only way to win in Austerity Britain.

Why not start using a cash-back card to save on your daily purchases? Or Set up a home-based business? How about diversifying your savings/income by putting it in investment vehicles that offer higher rates of return than the nominal bank interest of 0.5%?

To get what you have never got, you have to do what you have never done before! Or to put it another way if you want different results, you have to do things differently! In addition to that be careful to whom you listen to!! What do I mean by that? Well most individuals are not risk takers so it easier for those around you to tell you to keep doing what you’ve always done and be complacent about your financial and personal circumstances because everyone is in debt and financial turmoil! However, if you decide that is not what you want for yourself, your family, your future and step out of the status quo, and by doing so become happier and more successful, you will ultimately be highlighting to all those around you that not only were they wrong but how little they want and accept for their lives. And no one likes for that to be highlighted to them.

The question really then ‘is what do you care more about?’ What others think about you and belonging to the status quo of mediocrity? Or stepping out of your comfort zone to achieve your goals, dreams and desires? If yes, fine…if no, then it is time to take action; action to know that irrelevant of what happens in the UK or Global economy you will be indifferent to it because you will be creating your own personal economy to rely on.

Due to the current global economic crisis the subject of pensions and savings on a whole, have been in and out of the media on a consistent basis, and with the talks of inflation and whether the Bank of England is going to increase interest rates again and the consequences of that, the consensus is that the idea and structure of a pension and with it the signification of retirement is no longer viable in the 21st Century.

What is a pension?

A pension is a form of long term saving to provide individuals with an income when they are no longer earning a regular income after employment; otherwise known as retirement.

Here in the UK, pensions first came into existence in 1670 for Royal Navy Officiers but it was in 1946 that the National Insurance Act, or pensions as we know it, was introduced providing a State pension for all, with payments being received from age 65 for men and 60 for women, effective from 1948.

At that time the life expectancy of individuals were low, unlike now in 21st century people are living longer due to the various advancements in medical technology and other factors.

The pension is nearly 62 years old, and like most things man-made, i.e fait currencies, it has an expiry date, and that date seems to be just around the corner for many here in the UK and other parts of the world.

Why the pension crisis?

The main problem is that the pension model is broken. Open any newspaper, online article on pensions to see this. There are not enough people, especially young people paying into the system in which they will not actually benefit from. Governments have purged it. In addition to that there is the stigma of saving for a pension that you may not get out what you put, as has happened to a number of individuals over the years. The received to many individuals have lost a lot of money from bad investments and scams; such as the Robert Maxwell pension scam and Equitable life.

Ultimately, we are not saving for our retirement due to a number of factors including the rising cost of living (via inflation), cost of education, and the fact we live in a time of ‘buy today’ rather than ‘Save and Spend’.

SIPPS

SIPPS is an alternative to the traditional pension schemes we generally think of. It stands for Self-Invested Personal Pensions, and are not for everyone. If it is however for you, then you should, of course, and with everything do concerning your finances, carry out own due diligence by comparing and investigating what is best for you and your money; as well as get financial advice – FREE financial advice – which you can do so with Life UK Financial.

Below is a video on SIPPS from LoveMoney.com

www.youtube.com/watch?v=96Pb31N6v5k

As you can see one of the most interesting and attractive things about a SIPPS is its flexibility it gives to use different vehicles to fund it, including property and gold.

I am sure most are aware of the growing popularity of gold and how it is a store of value against growing inflation, however just to clarify not all Gold can be SIPPS related. The government rules that gold you buy must be of a specific kind. The formal definition of what is required is “gold of a purity not less than 995 thousandths that is in the form of a bar, or a wafer, of a weight accepted by the bullion markets”. You cannot buy – for example – sovereigns.

‘Good Delivery Bars’ are the type of bars accepted by the bullion markets. The standard is a 400 oz bar of at least 99.5% purity. The fine (pure) gold content of these bars is the standard unit of account of the bullion markets, so if you own 100 grams of gold you own 100 grams of pure gold, which is a bit more than 100 grams of the actual bar.

An alternative to this is to purchase a Gold saving/purchase plan, which you can do with KB Gold. Their gold is 999.9 24k gold bullion kinebars in various sizes (0.5grams to 5 grams) which you can buy on a monthly basis starting from €50 a month.

There are currently so many adverts prompting you to sell your gold, but I say buy gold! There is a reason why it is going up and will continue to go up! Get financially savvy about this and don’t allow preconceived ideas about gold and the sort of people who buy gold, to stop you from enquiring about how acquire it for yourself and family. You can do this cost effectively, even on a tight budget!

To attend a webinar on KB Gold and find out how it’s simple and cost effective purchasing plan can benefit your long term and short term savings plan please go to http://my.dimdim.com/goldfromkb.com/ tonight at 8pm GMT for our weekly webinar.

Alternatively, if property is your thing, then have a look at Platinum Investment Property Ltd, whom I mentioned in my property blog post last month. They are also holding a webinar tonight at 7pm GMT at https://www2.gotomeeting.com/register/937753827. If you would like to attend this instead of the gold webinar, then no worries, at it ends at 8pm. Not only that but you can review a pre-recorded webinar on KB Gold by clicking here.

To end, Robert Kiyosaki, author of the No.1 bestselling personal finance book of all time ‘Rich Dad, Poor Dad’ has been predicting this economic and thus, pension crisis for many years with many pouring scorn on his thoughts and opinions. He says the old ways of doing things, going to school, getting a job and retiring with a good pension is now obsolete! And that is one keeps doing it the old way they will be financially wiped out, which is what we are seeing up and down the land, especially to the middle class’.

“Without Financial Education, your money flows to those who profit most from your financial ignorance.’ Robert Kiyosaki.

This is why financial education is so important to ALL of us and MUST become a part of our daily intake knowledge,

To your success,

It’s the New Year, and this is my first post from Becoming Financially Savvy, the financial education and wealth creation blog of Butterfly Wealth Creation, for 2011. As such the subject of this article is very dear to my heart. Financial Equality!

Financial equality, in this context, refers to bringing financially stability to individuals from the poorest parts of the world, both here in the western world and developing countries. Financial freedom and financial education is a right for all, and it is amazing what one will do for it and what one can do with it, once they understand it, have it, and implement the core teachings of it.

We all know the world is much bigger than the EU, USA and UK and that although times are economically hard, globally, we have a lot more than most in other parts of the world, as such what are your thoughts on the following quote.

‘The purpose of wealth is to serve others’.

Doing what I do – promoting the importance of financial education and creating wealth – financial equality is very central to my belief that money is an energy and should be shared and used as a source of good throughout the world; as such this quote resonates deeply with me and for the last several months I have participated in a programme that promotes this, and that programme is called Club Asteria.

Financial equality is prevalent in the arena of micro-economics, alternatively referred to as microfinance, as well as micro-credit. In MoneyWeek, the UK’s best selling finance magazine, they reported on this rising sector stating that it is an area that emerging markets have not yet tapped into, thus it is a good area to research as a potential revenue stream for investors and non investors, alike. For the full report click here.

The World Bank is a great promoter of micro-finance as it is the base root to helping developing countries grow; thus it is not surprising to know that the highly respected ex-finance director of The World Bank, Andrea Lucas, is head of the online organization, Club Asteria, which helps to create opportunities for individuals around the world to share in today’s wealth, in an ethical and transparent manner. This is an experienced woman who not only knows how money works and finance works but most importantly, for you and me, how compound interest works; and has applied it to the membership weekly commission program.

I have been with Club Asteria, as a gold member, for several months now and haven’t looked back! It is an organization for entrepreneurs and those interested in global social issues; immigrants or expatriates looking to save on money transfers; a motivated and ambitious individual from an underdeveloped region of the world; and those interested in benefitting from Club Asteria’s products and services, of which there are many.

Here, Andrea Lucas, MD of Club Asteria, speaks about the organisation: -

httpv://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vQWbw7dPuek

So How Do You Make Money with Club Asteria?

Well there are three memberships types: Free, Silver and Gold. Silver membership is $10 and gold membership is $20 a month. For those more entrepreneurial there is also the option to become a network director and country wide network director.

When you pay your monthly membership fee you purchase points called Asterios and depending on how many points you have will determine how much commission you will receive as a paying member. For further information on membership fees click here and weekly commission structure click here and download the Excel sheet, from there you will see how with the use of compound interest your asterios (points) will increase, thus your commission, also, up to a maximum of 10% weekly.

In addition to consistently receiving my weekly membership commissions from Club Asteria, one of the things I am proud to say I have contributed towards via the organisation is in the providing of necessary nutritious food to many needy communities and making clean drinking water available by digging deep wells. These projects are only the beginning of what Club Asteria can and will accomplish in providing life’s most basic needs to those most in need.

As well as the above Club Asteria has helped many individuals around the world to increase their income and improve their lifestyle. To view the 100’s of testimonials please click here.

The focus and generosity of Club Asteria cannot be questioned; as such I have a huge amount of respect for them to the point that I am offering one lucky reader the opportunity to have their first month refunded as a gold member. To enter this competition please do the following:

1. Click here and sign up as a FREE member in the first instance

2. Fill in all your required details and then upgrade to gold membership ($20) via Paypal or AlertPay. (If you do not have a credit/debit card you can order a CashX card for $5 from Club Asteria)

3. Then at the end of the month – Monday January 31st I will pick one lucky winner whose 1st month gold membership fee will be refunded to them. An email will be sent out stating the winner as well as stated here at http://BecomingFinanciallySavvy.com

This is a serious business, so again, please only sign up if you understand and believe in the premise of Club Asteria.

For further information on Club Asteria please go http://BWC-ClubAsteria.info . And for those who are on Facebook please do join the Club Asteria group – http://www.facebook.com/TheClubAsteria, as well as follow them on Twitter – http://twitter.com/#!/theclubasteria

So, to end, what will you do with your weekly club commissions? Buy more Asterioss (points)? Help others to get started with CA? Invest it in your business? Or even use it to buy gold?

Here’s to becoming financially savvy and financial equality for all!

To your financial success,

Since my last post on gold ‘Gold(en) Nuggets To Beat Economic Instability’ back in July, gold has continued to go up setting a new high of $1,414.60 an ounce last month; as well featuring more prolifically in the mainstream news. That does not mean however that the Gold Bull Run has exhausted itself. No, not all! Gold (and silver) will continue to rise as long as the global governments continue to manipulate the money markets and inject more money into the economy by printing it aka quantitative easing. Most gold experts believe it could go up to $5000 an ounce, thus $1100 will seem like chump change in the not too distant future.

As such I thought I would write a complimentary article about the different ways to invest in gold as there are numerous. Below are the most common: -

Bullion Coins

It is widely acknowledged that the first pure gold coins were found in Anatolia (current day Turkey); in modern day UK the most popular gold coins to invest in and own are ones produced by governments such as the South African Krugerrand, the American Gold Eagle, the Canadian Maple Leaf and of course the British Britannia – on which you do not have to pay any tax on, as it is British. The price of these coins depends on the gold spot price plus a premium of between 6.5% – 8.5%.

The benefits of investing in gold coins are that you can have them on your persons, they are more mobile than bars of gold and are the most popular way to invest/purchase gold for the masses thus easy to sell/exchange. Because they are standardised, dealers generally do not test these for their purity.

Numismatic Coins

Is another type of gold coin that typically has a higher value then its face value due to its history and age; for example coins that are considered rare or ancient will often have a significantly higher monetary value than the suggested value. Numismatic coins are highly coveted by coin collectors because of their history and potential value; thus is another way to invest in gold.

Bullion Bars

Gold bars can be sold in various sizes and weights but the most common are sold in 100 gram, 50 gram and 1 kilo weights. One of the key difference between coins and bars is that bars carry a lower price premium then coins, however the larger the bar the higher the possibility of fraud. It is for this reason that the Argor-Heraeus refinery in Switzerland introduced the kinebar – a gold bar which carries a unique holographic technology – to combat gold bar counterfeiting. There is a premium to purchasing a kinebar but at least the owner is assured that their purchase is 24K, 999.9 gold.

ETFs

Exchange Traded Funds is a fund that trades like a share and has become quite popular over the last several years as it is an easy way to gain exposure to gold without the worry of storing physical bars. It has, however, come with its problems the main one being its complex structure and questions raised about the validity of the gold, ie, does it exist. Ultimately with anything one does you should do your research and due diligence to ascertain which gold investment is best for you and your money.

In addition to the above one can buy gold via mining stocks, certificates, jewellery and stocks and shares, such as spread betting and futures. For more information on the various ways to purchase gold please review the following links below:

http://www.taxfreegold.co.uk/goldcoinsbriefhistory.html

To end, here are some interesting facts for you to ponder regarding purchasing gold –

Gold Prices since 1970

1970 - $38.90
1975 - $139.29
1985 - $327.00
1990 - $386.20
2000 - $279.11
2005 - $444.74
2009 - $972.35
Today – $1,414.60
2011 – How much will you own?
2012 – How much will you get for free?

So the question is not if you will buy gold but how will you buy gold and when you will buy it?

To help answer this question for you, I am hosting a webinar tonight – Tuesday 28th December at 8pm GMT and tomorrow Wednesday 29th December at 2:30pm GMT – on this very subject, and how you can purchase gold in a cost effective, safe and simple way. The link to join the webinar is http://TV.ButterflyWealthCreation.co.uk

I hope to see you there and here’s to YOU making your 2011 a GOLDEN one!

To Your Financial Success,

Let me ask you, when you think about becoming debt free and financially independent what do think about and what do you tell yourself? Do you tell yourself that it will never happen for you, or that it is too hard to do; or that it doesn’t happen to people like YOU? Or do you tell yourself that you deserve to be rich because you will add value to other people’s lives; or that someone like you can be rich; or that you can be rich doing what you love? What is your attitude to wealth? And what negative or positive connotations do you associate with it?

T. Harv Eker, author of the New York bestselling ‘Secrets of the Millionaire Mind: Mastering the Inner Game of Wealth’ says –

“There is a secret psychology to money. Most people don’t know about it, that’s why most people never become financially successful. A lack of money is not the problem, it is merely a symptom of what’s going on inside you…”

Becoming Financially Savvy is a blog not simply about showing you why you need to or how to become financially savvy but also to challenge the way you think about money and your relationship with it, so that you can ‘up’ your game and make more money.

To do this it all comes down to your mindset; a subject I have touched upon a number of times in other posts published here, on BecomingFinanciallySavvy.com. How you think about money is how it will manifest in your life, thus you have to develop and challenge your mindset regarding money. Do you have an abundant, opportunity orientated mindset or a poverty mindset?

Further to his quote above, watch T. Harv Eker speak about this in the video below.

I attended his event earlier this year (see pic) and I took away a magnitude of great learning, however two keys things really stuck with me:

If you don’t learn how to manage your money you will never have enough money to manage;

Financially speaking, broke people believe the primary reason to work is to earn money to pay for their current lifestyle/situation. Whilst rich people believe the primary reason to work is to earn money to invest and create passive income structures, so that they can win the money game and become financially free.

My focus is all about investing and making my money work hard for me in order to become financially free. What about you? Remember, it is not a question of how much you have but what you choose do with what you have!!

I thoroughly recommend attending the next London Millionaire Mindset Intensive event, which will probably be early next year. In the meantime you can download his book for free by clicking on the book title stated above and get familiar with his concepts and theories. As the saying goes learning is earning!

To end, your mindset is detrimentally, especially in these unprecedented economic times, in determining whether you will simple survive or live. The world we exist in is dramatically changing, even down to money, as we know it. The value of paper based money – the euro, pound, yen, dollar, etc, is decreasing fast, whilst ‘real’ money – Gold (and silver) is increasing rapidly. Is your mind open to understanding what money really is? Could Gold become the new global currency? Are you willing to accept or even be open to this concept? There are already calls for money to return to the Gold Standard (where ‘fait’ currency is once again backed by gold) but the reality is that the current global deficit is too forgone for that to happen. So, what is the alternative? Mike Maloney, renowned Gold and Silver expert, gives his view in the video below.

At the present moment there is only one company I know of that is implementing a vision similar to what Mike suggests as an alternative and that is KB Gold. I will be hosting a webinar on this company tomorrow – Wednesday 13th October at 2:30pm GMT and 8pm GMT.

Do you know the difference between financial security, financial freedom and financial independence? Interestingly enough, not many people do! And if I were to ask a number of individuals from mainstream society, which of the three would they want for themselves most would choose financial security, as it is what they understand most. This is not necessarily a bad thing, but neither is it a great thing because who or what exactly is responsible for providing that (financial) security?

Just like the individual words themselves: Security, Freedom and Independence; financial security, freedom and independence, connotates three different things. And depending on the context in which they are stated they will again have a different meaning. So within the context of becoming financially savvy and financial education, this is how I define the three.

Financial Security is knowing you have enough to live on for life or having a good job/pension/income that affords you a good standard of living. Generally, when my peers talk about financial security it is relating to having a permanent and well paying J.O.B, albeit if one enjoys it or not. But what happens if one loses that job? Many are now seeing the true reality of financial security, specifically via a J.O.B!

Financial Freedom is similar to financial security in that it can be transitional. I believe it to be the stage from financial security to financial independence. Some believe that just because they are debt free they are, as a result, financially free, but of course this is not necessarily true. Furthermore, one can become financially free because of a lottery win or having received a big bonus from work. But what happens when the money runs out due to whatever reasons? We have all heard the stories of lottery winners losing it all in a number of years! Why, because they thought the money would last forever and thus, got too comfortable with ‘financial freedom’ rather than working towards financial independence.

Financial Independence, on the other hand, is the ultimate and is about being independent of any and all external factors by making your money work for you rather than you work for money. If the economy is up, down, moving left or right, you are able to sustain yourself. You have multiple steams of passive incomes and you know that if all goes wrong tomorrow you can create your wealth again. Essentially it is a state of mind rather than a state of being!

Financial independence is what we should all be aiming for. Individuals such as Richard Branson, Robert Kiyosaki, and Donald Trump are all financially independent beings. They have all created wealth from nothing, and not only once, but many times over. If you can create wealth once you will be able to do it again, as it is a skill not something based on luck!

I attended an event at the weekend called Financial Independence Day, organised by Nikki and Chris Blandin DeChalain of Serene Education. Speakers such as Ryan Pinnock and Rohan Weerasinghe were there sharing their stories and inspiring the crowd towards financial independence. Check out my video review below on the event!

It was a great event and one I would recommend to those starting their journey in becoming financially independent; as well as talking to me, of course. The next Financial Independence Day event is Saturday November 20th 2010.

So, remember, even if you are presently earning a fantastic wage in a great job this will ultimately only give you financial security. Or if you’re a big lottery winner or similar, this will only provide financial freedom for a certain amount of time as stated above. Financial independence is ultimately what you should be aiming for and there are many ways of doing it without breaking the bank! It is all about starting…taking action! So below are 5 Steps to Starting Your Financial Independence Journey:

Get a financial health-check with Life UK Financial for £49.99 (including VAT)

Do you have debts? Well how about making some money from your debts? Believe me it is possible! Call me for further details and ALL will be revealed!!

Manage your monthly budget and save some money with a pre-paid Mastercard in the form of CashBackCard.com. It’s FREE to join and when you sign up you receive £3.99! Not only that but up to February 2011 you will also receive 100% cash-back! Now tell me where you can find an offer like that? It’s marvellous! To get your cash-back card click here!

Do you save? How is that working out for you, what with low interest rates and high inflation? Do you want to save? Then why not save in GOLD via a Gold Purchase Plan starting from 50 € a month?! It’s simply and cost effective. Click here to find out more, as well as click here to read the latest report from Money Week, Britain’s best-selling financial magazine, regarding Gold and UK inflation.

Think about how you can start creating your own personal economy via multiple streams of passive and residual incomes rather than solely relying on a plain linear one? I can help you with this! So get do get in-touch! You have nothing to lose by doing so!

So, to end, do you have a date for your Financial Independence Day?

To Your Financial Success & Becoming Financially Savvy!
